The dry Andean canyon 90 minutes east of Lima, below 2,700 m — a desert-to-montane transect packed with central-Peru endemics. Great Inca-Finch, Bronze-tailed Comet, Black-necked Woodpecker, Black Metaltail, Rusty-crowned Tit-Spinetail, Thick-billed Miner and Rufous-breasted Warbling-Finch, with Torrent Duck on the river and Andean Condor overhead.
