Overview
Central Coast: Concón & Quintay
The central coast combines the Aconcagua river estuary at Concón with the rocky seabird headlands of Quintay. It is a day of Humboldt Current specialities and estuary waterbirds, with the Many-colored Rush-Tyrant in the reeds and, on a calm sea, good chances of penguin and diving-petrel from shore.
The estuary holds Many-colored Rush-Tyrant, gulls, terns and shorebirds; the rocky coast gives Humboldt Penguin, Peruvian Diving-Petrel, Inca Tern, Peruvian Booby, Guanay Cormorant, Seaside Cinclodes and Blackish Oystercatcher, with pelicans and cormorants streaming past.
