The Paty Trail (Senda Paty), descending from below the Carpish tunnel into taller, wetter cloud forest — the classic walking trail of the area and a magnet for mixed flocks. It shares the region's endemic Coppery Metaltail, Rufous-browed Hemispingus and Masked Fruiteater, adds the endemic Bay-vented Cotinga, and turns up quetzals, mountain-tanagers, barbets and a long list of cloud-forest specialities.
