The high finale of the Abra Málaga road — the Polylepis (queñua) woodland, the 4,316 m pass and the puna beyond. A short, focused list of the high-Andes specialities the road is famous for: the critically endangered Royal Cinclodes and the endemic White-browed Tit-Spinetail in the Polylepis, with Tawny Tit-Spinetail, Giant Conebill, Line-fronted and Junín Canastero, Puna Thistletail, thornbills, seedsnipes, ground-tyrants and Puna Tapaculo.
