The humid Urubamba gorge and lower cloud forest of the Machu Picchu Historic Sanctuary — the river, the railway and the forest around Aguas Calientes, from Hidroeléctrica up to about 2,100 m. Andean Cock-of-the-rock lek in the ravines, Torrent Duck and White-capped Dipper work the rapids and Fasciated Tiger-Heron the boulders, with the endemic Inca Wren, Masked Fruiteater, Green-and-white Hummingbird and Creamy-crested Spinetail among tanagers, fruiteaters, toucanets and a dozen hummingbirds.
