The Reserva Huembo near Pomacochas — the reliable home of the Marvelous Spatuletail, the extraordinary racket-tailed hummingbird found only in this corner of northern Peru. Its feeders and dry-slope scrub draw the endemic Royal Sunangel and Speckle-chested Piculet, with a supporting cast of hummingbirds, tanagers and foothill birds along the forest edge.
