The Waqanki Lodge gardens and hummingbird feeders near Moyobamba — one of the great hummingbird spectacles of northern Peru, where Rufous-crested Coquette and dozens of other species buzz the flowers. The clearings and forest edge add tanagers, the endemic Koepcke's Hermit and Rusty-tinged Antpitta, and an easy introduction to San Martín's foothill birds.
